Abstract

This paper examines the role of music in shaping cultural attitudes and promoting social change across gender lines. It argues that musical training accommodates both genders from basic through tertiary education and highlights how music education can empower women and the girl child, challenge societal norms, and foster sustainable development. The study identifies barriers such as inadequate funding, lack of qualified personnel and curriculum gaps, and recommends interventions to strengthen music as a tool for a more equitable and sustainable world.
