Language as Resistance: Feminist Discourse and Cultural Power in Global Literary Spaces

Abstract

Through a Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis of The Joys of Motherhood and drawing on Foucault's theory of power and discourse, this paper examines how linguistic choices, narrative structure and character voices resist patriarchal ideologies and position the novel as a site of cultural power.
