Gender, Marriage and Population Dynamics in Hausa Society: A Study on Kano, Katsina and Sokoto States and the Implications for Sustainable Development

Abstract

Using a qualitative approach grounded in Gender Role and Demographic Transition theories, the study examines how cultural and religious norms in Kano, Katsina and Sokoto shape reproductive behaviour, women's status and sustainable development, and considers the implications of shifting urban attitudes.
